The children have fully embraced the Christmas theme and loved creating in ‘Santa’s workshop’. During the next week the children will be encouraged to join in with many other Christmas themed activities ranging from using their funky fingers to create pomanders; supporting number recognition and counting with tree fun; develop turn taking skills as they play Christmas bingo; support mark making as they add faces to the nativity characters; make their own salt dough and create their own tree decoration; and talk about what we can do to help our feathered friends during the winter months. On top of this we will continue to have sensory play, small world play, dressing up, card creating and having fun developing social skills with their friends.
Next week all parents will be receiving their child’s summary from this part of the year. These are written twice a year by your child’s key person. Parents will be given a paper copy as well as it being made available on your child’s on-line learning journal. If you do have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s summary please speak to your child’s key person who will be most happy to meet at a mutually convenient time.
